Placement and Promotion
Placement
During LCC Welcome Week, new students (and returning students who were away from the LCC for seven weeks or longer) will be required to take two placement tests:
Speaking Test
Writing Test
Promotion
Your course grades and your score on the exit Writing Test will be used to calculate the promotion score.
In order to progress to the next level (or graduate from Level 6), a student must meet both requirements below:
1) a final course grade of C (73%) or higher in each area (listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and structure); and
2) an exit Writing Test score in the next higher level.
