To be accepted to the Language and Culture Center, a student must have completed the equivalent of U.S. high school prior to enrolling in the LCC. If the student is not a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident, the student has to obtain a valid non-immigrant or immigrant status which permits the student to study full time. Most international students study in the LCC on an F-1 visa.

Application Instructions

A. Complete the online application form

Go to myLCC to begin the application process. After you submit this first page (your name as it appears on your passport, your personal email address-not someone else's email address and not an email address created just for your LCC application, and country of citizenship), you will receive an automated email with your login name and password. You will then log into myLCC for access to the complete application.

Note: if you do not receive an automated email from the LCC, please check your spam or junk folder. If you receive an error message, try using a different browser. Google Chrome works best.

Important: After you submit your completed application, email the LCC at lcc@uh.edu to inform us that your application is ready for review. Include your full name as it appears on your passport and your date of birth. We do not receive alerts from the application system so this is the only way for us to know that you have submitted your application.

This policy is temporarily on hold: your application will not be reviewed until after UH receives your $100 (non-refundable, non-transferable) application fee.

UH has no method to collect your application fee at this time. You will receive a link to pay message from the LCC after UH has completed this project. This will not be anytime soon. We will review applications temporarily without your mandatory $100 application fee.

If you have any questions or difficulties, please email the LCC at lcc@uh.edu.

C. Pay the $100 LCC application fee (temporarily on hold)

Please send an email message to the LCC at lcc@uh.edu (include your full name as it appears on your passport and date of birth) after you submit your completed application to request the link to pay. Applications will not be reviewed until UH has received your application fee payment. (temporarily, the fee requirement is on hold; we will review applications without the application fee payment)

The application fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

A new $100 fee is due for each deferral.

Application review and processing take approximately 10 to 15 business days after all required documents and the application fee (temporarily, the fee is on hold) have been received. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
