Health Professions Advisory Committee
Pre-Medical and pre-Dental applicants benefit from having components of their application materials evaluated by a Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) just prior to applying to medical and dental school, and including a Committee Letter of Evaluation in their application.
At the University of Houston, HPAC consists of 18 University of Houston faculty and staff from across campus.
The HPAC application evaluation cycle begins during the Spring semester of each academic year and runs into early Summer. However, students apply to participate in HPAC earlier than this; the process begins in mid-Fall.
After evaluation, HPAC provides an official Committee Letter of Evaluation for each pre-Medical and pre-Dental applicant. This letter is submitted along with the applicant's other Letters of Evaluation to the associated medical and dental application services (i.e., TMDSAS, AMCAS, AACOMAS, AADSAS, and Interfolio upon request).
