Student Service Organizations Abroad

Bauer Global Brigades Student Service Program, Summer 2017

There are several student organizations that offer experiences abroad in a variety of geographical locations with diverse goals and values.

Student Organization Abroad Programs, per the Dean of Students Office are not “sponsored or sanctioned” by the University unless the program is formally co-sponsored with an administrative or academic unit of the University. Receiving IES funding does not make this program co-sponsored by Learning Abroad or University of Houston.

All student service organizations must submit the Student Service Learning Program Registration before any members can receive IES funding. Organizations should contact Andie Beer with Learning Abroad for the Program Registration form.

All student organizations traveling must submit an application for approval using the Student Organization Abroad Program Registration document. Any student organizations traveling to U.S. Department of State Travel Warning Level 3 countries must reqeust program approval following the Elevated Risk Destination policy on our website.

If you have questions or are interested in joining an organization and attending one of their programs, please contact the organization directly.

Students attending a Service Learning program abroad must register with Learning Abroad, per the registration process
