Computer Science Minor
Computing plays an important role in the world today and tomorrow. A minor in computer science provides basic proficiency in computing and can enhance the value of many majors.
Requirements
- All course prerequisites are strictly enforced
- Foundations:
- COSC 1306/1336
- COSC 1430/1437
- COSC 2430/2436
- Advanced COSC Electives (9 hours required):
- COSC 3000 or 4000 level course
- COSC 3000 or 4000 level course
- COSC 3000 or 4000 level course
- Excludes COSC 3X96, 3X99, 4X96, 4X98, 4X99, 4151
- Minimum 2.0 COSC minor GPA to graduate
Eligibility to Declare Minor
- All minor requests that are submitted must be reviewed for approval by the NSM Undergraduate Advising Center
- Completion of at least one course that is applicable to the minor and attempted at UH
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at UH
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on the most recent 60 hours at UH
- Minimum 2.0 MATH GPA at UH
- Minimum 2.0 COSC GPA at UH
- Minor must be declared to enroll in advanced COSC electives (3000 and 4000 level)
