UHCOP Welcomes UH Alumna, Staffer Beth Kungel Borck as New Director of Development

UH College of Pharmacy recently welcomed two-time UH alumna Beth Kungel Borck as the college's new Director of Development.

"We're very excited about what Beth brings to the college, including personal familiarity with the UH culture and the aspirational mentality and work ethic of our alumni as well as our supporters and partners in the community," said UHCOP Dean F. Lamar Pritchard, Ph.D., R.Ph. "We're looking forward to her leadership in communicating our vision for advancing the college, our academic and research programs, and our students opportunities for success."

Borck brings a diverse portfolio of experience to the college, including donor relations and stewardship, strategic planning, public and alumni relations, marketing and communications, and special event coordination.

Borck has a longtime association with the University of Houston System, where she earned bachelor's degrees in sociology and theatre from UH. She also served as a development director for The Honors College; coordinator of career services, alumni events and marketing at UH-Clear Lake; and box office manager for Moores Opera House. Most recently, Borck worked in community support specialist and guest relations officer roles for Dow Chemical Co. in the Middle East.

In addition to her UH degrees, Borck earned a master of business administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

"After living and working in Saudi Arabia for the last four-and-a-half years, it has been wonderful to return home to UH," Borck said. "The energetic diversity of the campus population, coupled with the grand aspirations of the university, create a dynamic environment in which to work.

"I am excited to join the UHCOP and look forward to working with the faculty, staff and students to ensure the financial needs of the college are met. I intend to create robust partnerships with our donor community to ensure that the dean’s vision for the future of UHCOP is fully supported."
