Staying Well in Winter
UHCOP Students Provide Nearly 1,300 Screenings at Jan. 24 Humble Community Health Fair
UH College of Pharmacy Pharm.D. students provided nearly 1,300 free wellness screenings for the Humble/Kingwood/Northeast Houston community during a Jan. 21 health fair at the Humble Civic Center.
In addition to nearly 70 medication reviews, UHCOP students performed:
- 657 cholesterol/blood glucose tests;
- 406 blood pressure readings; and
- 203 diabetic foot exams and metabolic syndrome/diabetes education.
Nearly 100 students and several faculty members participated in the event.
The event is sponsored by the nonprofit CVA Cares Foundation and the Cardiovascular Association PLLC physicians group in collaboration with the City of Humble, Kingwood Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.
