Aparasu Co-chairs Research Review Committee for ISPOR International Meeting
UH College of Pharmacy's Rajender R. Aparasu, Ph.D., FAPhA, has been invited to serve as co-chair of the Research Review Committee for the 21st Annual International Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) May 21-25 in Washington, D.C.
"ISPOR is the preeminent organization for health outcomes researchers, and I am very proud and honored to serve as a Research Review Committee Co-Chair for such a prestigious international organization," said Aparasu, who serves as professor and chair of the college's Department of Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy (PHOP). "This also provides an opportunity to showcase the University of Houston as a preeminent Tier One research university."
Aparasu and his three committee co-chairs were selected by the meeting's Programming Committee and executive director of ISPOR based on achievements and contributions in the field of pharmaceutical health outcomes and policy.
"The co-chairs have the responsibility to decide on the programming for about 2,000 research projects that are submitted for consideration as poster or podium presentations," said Aparasu, who has been a member of the international organization for more than a decade.
The ISPOR International Meeting draws more than 4,000 professionals and students from academia, government, and the pharmaceutical industry. It's not only one of the largest meetings for health economics and outcomes researchers around the world, the PHOP doctoral program students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty members typically present at least two dozen posters at each meeting.
