UH Graduate School Honors UHCOP's Christen Gould as Advisor of the Month for January 2016
UH College of Pharmacy Graduate Programs Advisor Christen Gould has been recognized by the UH Graduate School as the Advisor of the Month for January 2016.
Based at the college's Texas Medical Center campus, Gould advises students in the Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy doctoral degree program as well as post-graduates in the Houston Program for Pharmacy Leadership & Administration, a two-year program leading to an M.S. degree from UHCOP and PGY1/PGY-2 health-system pharmacy administration residencies through seven leading TMC health systems. Gould has been a UHCOP staff member for seven years.
"I am truly honored for the recognition," Gould said. "Advising is all about the students, and I just hope that my students know how much I truly want them to succeed."
Recipients are selected by a UH Graduate School committee based on nominations from other advisors, students and other members of the UH community. Gould's was singled out for the award based on "her outstanding role as a 'one-stop shop' in assisting graduate students who, due to being at the Texas Medical Campus, typically don't have access to all of the resources other students have at the main campus," said Chris Foster, assistant director for Graduate Programs & Student Records at the UH Graduate School.
