Class of 2016 Graduating Students Earn Awards for Excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Skills
UH College of Pharmacy and select student organizations presented awards to several graduating students at the Class of 2016 Graduation Awards Reception May 12 at the UH Hilton.
The Graduation Awards Reception is an annual tradition of the college to recognize students for exceptional scholarship, leadership, service and exhibition of pharmacy practice skills such as patient counseling and communication.
The 2016 award recipients were:
APhA-ASP Service Recognition Award – Ashley Trojcak
ASHP Health System Pharmacy Award – Meghann Davis
Award of Excellence in Clinical Communication Sponsored by Facts & Comparisons and Lexicomp – Stephanie Underwood
Dean Joseph P. Buckley Pharmacy Leadership Award – Sherin Korah, Ashley Mathew, Ryan May and Elisabeth Sulaica
Lilly Achievement Award – Jensen Idicula
Merck Award – Sunny Bhakta, Nghi Bui and Tianrui Yang

UHCOP Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Clinical Skills – Nicholas Yarbrough and Quratulain Anna Zulfiqar
U.S. Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Practice Award – Krutina Patel Garcia
PHOP Graduate Student Excellence Award (Doctoral Program) – Mark Hatfield
In addition, UHCOP Clinical Associate Professor Lynn Simpson, Pharm.D. ('97), received the Phi Lambda Sigma Faculty Leadership Award.
Also recognized at the May 12 event were the top preceptors of the 2015-16 academic year.
