Presidential Honors
Faculty Members Coyle, Wanat Earn Presidential Citations; Wanat Installed as Texas Chapter President
UH College of Pharmacy's Elizabeth A. Coyle, Pharm.D., BCPS, FCCM, clinical professor, and Matthew A. Wanat, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCCCP, clinical assistant professor, were honored with Presidential Citations from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) during the 46th Annual Critical Care Congress Jan. 21-25 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The citations recognize SCCM members who have made extraordinary contributions of time, energy and resources to SCCM during the previous year.
In addition, Wanat was installed as the 2017-18 president of the SCCM Texas Chapter.
Wanat's leadership position follows his one-year term as president-elect and precedes his a one-year term as immediate past president. The citation, recognizes SCCM members who have made extraordinary contributions of time, energy, and resources to SCCM during the previous year, marks the second consecutive year in which he has received the honor.
"It was a very successful year for SCCM and our SCCM Texas Chapter, and I am very appreciate to have had the opportunity to play a role in that success," Wanat said. "I am looking forward to a great 2017 as president of the Texas Chapter."
Wanat was previously honored with the SCCM Texas Chapter's Excellence in Leadership Award in 2015 and the Excellence in Service-Education Award in 2016.
