When to register for classes

Go to the University's Enrollment Schedule for your registration dates and times. You need to give special attention to the fee payment deadlines - if fees are not paid by the due date, your enrollment is canceled automatically by UH. This may result in a class being closed when you try to enroll for it later.

Doctoral credit

Course numbers & section numbers: All GCSW doctoral courses are coded SOCW 8XXX (where XXXX is the four digit course number). The five digit number in parentheses is the section number needed to register. To receive Ph.D credit, be sure you're enrolling in 8XXX courses.

Advising

You are encouraged to meet with your academic advisor well in advance of registration. It’s important to be sure you’re taking the correct courses (you can be dropped from courses if you haven’t met the prerequisites) in order to graduate on time.
