Keepers of the Lamp
"… the keeper of the inn is the keeper of the flame, that thousand-year-old flame of hospitality which the graduates of our Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management must hold high and carry into the hotels of the 21st century."
– Conrad N. Hilton
This line from the oft-quoted October 28, 1969, speech made by Conrad N. Hilton at the Shamrock Hilton Hotel, where he gifted $1.5 million to create the College, has come to represent his vision for both Hilton College and the hospitality industry. That vision, symbolized by the welcoming light of the innkeeper's lamp, remains our icon—one worn proudly by members of the Keepers of the Lamp Society.
Keepers of the Lamp, an alumni recognition society, is open to all alumni, students and honorary alumni who donate to Hilton College. Those who contribute any amount to Hilton College receive a Keepers of the Lamp lapel pin with the year they donate. They also receive recognition in the College's annual Dean's Report.
To become a member of this time-honored alumni recognition society for any given calendar year (January 1 to December 31), simply donate any amount to the College.
