Career Highlights
MIHIRETU has higher education teaching, hospitality industry operation, and lodging project execution and leadership experiences. He has taught a range of courses, including Environmental Management in Hospitality Operation, Introduction to Hotel Operation, Hotel Front Office Management, Cultural Tourism, and Eco-tourism Development and Management. He has held successive positions in the hotel industry as a Training manager, Human resource director, and Deputy general manager. During his managerial role, he has initiated and led hotel safety and security and green hotel projects and received accreditations from Safehotels, Gothenburg, Sweden, and Green Key International, Copenhagen, Denmark institutions. Additionally, he was a project team leader for an eco-lodge, resort, and motel construction monitoring and evaluation project under the World Bank feasibility studied “Entoto Tourist Destination Development Project Office”. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow conducting research and teaching lodging management.
