Student cost-of-education budgets are carefully developed based on the cost of living in this geographic area. With careful planning and budgeting, these budgets allow a financial aid recipient to maintain a modest standard of living. The cost of attendance listed below, are the budget components for the 2024-2025 academic year. This budget is based on costs for an off-campus student, and not actual charges. These costs are based on full-time enrollment for fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Tuition and fees for Texas Residents | $26,524 |
Tuition and fees for Nonresidents | $45,904 |
Books | $3,400 |
Room and Board | $15,732 (budget will be lower if living on campus or with parents) |
Miscellaneous | $3,888 |
Transportation | $4,186 |
Total Texas Residents | $53,730 |
Total Nonresidents | $73,110 |
Tuition and fees are subject to change by the state Legislature and/or university action.
All Pharm.D. students have summer curriculum as part of the program. Summer financial aid is awarded in the month of May to those enrolled in 6 or more summer credit hours. Summer aid is awarded from the 2024-25 FAFSA.
Applying for Financial Aid
Students should apply for financial aid as soon as possible after December 1, even if they have not yet been admitted. All financial aid applicants must accept the offer of admission before aid can be awarded even if their financial aid file is complete.
To apply for financial aid, a student must complete the free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Be sure to indicate 003652 for the University of Houston school code and complete the FAFSA as a Graduate/Professional Student (no parent information is required).
Soon after the FAFSA has been submitted to the Central Processor at the Department of Education, students will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Students should review their SAR and make corrections to the Central Processor. At the same time that students receive their SAR, the UH Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid will receive the student's information electronically.

College Scholarships
Incoming Pharm.D. program students who are Texas residents and show financial aid need are eligible for the Dean's Excellence Scholarship, which provides $5,000 per year and is renewable for 4 years.
