Cancer Research at the University of Houston
The UH Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards offers several programs designed to give UH undergraduate students opportunities to gain research experience while receiving financial assistance: the UH Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), the UH Provost Undergraduate Research Fellowship (PURS), and the Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) program.

Multidisciplinary Seminar Series - Check for Upcoming Events
C-REP will host a series of multi-disciplinary seminars on cancer research in multiple areas featuring world-class, experienced faculty members in the field of engineering, physics, bioinformatics, biostatics, and social sciences/education in addition to tradition life sciences disciplines.
Four seminars will be held per year with an informal “town hall” forum at the end of the lecture that will allow students to get answers to specific research and career-oriented questions.
Lunch with Cancer Researchers - Check for Upcoming Events
This lunch series will increase interaction of undergraduate students with cancer researchers at various stages of their career from DLDCCC and UHCOP. Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students will share their "career path story" and will provide insight on what it takes to become a successful Ph.D. candidate or Post-doctoral level cancer researcher. These researchers will serve as mentors for C-REP participants.
Theater Outreach Program (TOP)
C-REP provides trainees with an opportunity to participate in cancer outreach events sponsored by the DLDCC office of outreach and Health Disparities at Baylor College of Medicine. C-REP trainees volunteer at community outreach events in which the goal is to increase community awareness of cancer and cancer screening.
