Visiting the Hobby School of Public Affairs

Visitor Information

The Hobby School has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade, culminating in the construction of a new 42,000-square-foot facility. During this time, active construction will impact pedestrian pathways and access points to our current offices in the Bates Law Building through the end of 2027. Please use designated entrances and follow posted directional signage along the updated pedestrian routes when entering or exiting the building.

Thank you for your patience and support as the Hobby School moves through this exciting chapter. In the meantime, you can follow along with the progress by tuning in to the campus construction webcam.

The Hobby School of Public Affairs offices are in the Bates Law and Teaching Unit 2 buildings in the northeast corner of campus adjacent to Spur 5.

Visitor Parking at the Elgin Street Garage

Driving Directions: Enter the visitor parking entrance of the Elgin Street Garage (4224 Elgin St.) from UH Entrance 18 at Elgin Street across the street from the LeRoy and Lucile Melcher Center for Public Broadcasting and General Services Building.

Hobby School Directory

Faculty, researchers, administration and business staff will be in the Bates Law building. The communications team will be next door in Teaching Unit 2. Students can access advising offices, classrooms, meeting rooms and a lounge area in Bates Law on the ground and first floors.
